So it actually started last year when Joel proposed in the sweetest way ever while they were out as a family with their little ones – Alfie and Ada. Of course, Abi said yes and the planning began. 2018 was a big year for them both as a family – they welcomed baby Ada into the world, they got engaged but the biggest event was when Joel who serves with the Welsh Guards deployed to Afghanistan. So planning a wedding was the perfect distraction for Abi while Joel was away.
We were lucky enough to capture some amazing images at their engagement photography session just before he deployed, CLICK HERE TO SEE THEIR ENGAGEMENT SESSION.
Turning up at the Oxwich Bay Hotel and Abi was getting ready with her mum and bridesmaids. I was surprised at how calm everyone was getting ready, everyone was in good spirits while the fizz was flowing and we were all laughing!
When Joel and the boys arrived at the venue it’s safe to say they were all looking very dapper. Joel was wearing his Welsh Guards tunic and he definitely looked the part. The groomsmen were wearing navy suits with waistcoats and they were probably the best-looking bunch groomsmen I’ve seen so far!
Unfortunately though the rain couldn’t hold off long enough, and by the time the ceremony was finished, the rain starting pouring down and it didn’t stop. I was so grateful that Abi wasn’t phased by rain, and I think you’ll agree that their photos are stunning and so worth getting wet for!
The atmosphere was absolutely incredible throughout the whole day – and I have never laughed so much at a wedding before!
I’ll leave you with some highlights of their day – congratulations Mr and Mrs Bladen.
